How you can participate in this incredible and vital event...

The RTCA is asking for prayer warriors to lift up the entire ministry of the RTCA, those who serve in the ministry, those the RTCA serves in racetracks, barns and farms throughout the world and the RTCA prayer list over a 24 hour period on May 6th, 2008.We ask that everyone commits to cover at least thirty minutes to one hour during that 24 hour period. You can find the 24 hour prayer list on site by contacting Chaplain Daniel Corte Jr who will post it on the site. His email is chaplaindaniel@comcast.net

The RTCA is also observing a fast on the day of prayer and Chaplains and Councils will be meeting on the day of prayer following a prayer walk to share a devotion and prayer time and to observe and celebrate in the Lord's Supper before breaking the fast that evening. Further the chaplains will have devotion and prayer times with the RTCA national home office with Dr. Torres the Executive Director and Rev. Edward Smith the RTCA Director of Evangelism and Missions.

The RTCA Global Day of Prayer is an interactive strategy of bringing a unified day of Prayer and lifting up the needs and praise to our Lord with fellow horse related ministries across the United States, Canada and joined by various islands in the Caribbean, The United Kingdom, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand and Australia.

Please join in with your local chaplain, council and the RTCA
as we reach out and up to God across the planet on May 6th, 2008!

RTCA GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER

PRAYER LIST
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - DR. ENRIQUE TORRES
1. Pray that God would open doors for new ministries in the state of Nebraska. Four race tracks in state and no ministires.
2. Pray that God would open doors for in Hasting Park in Vancuver Canada.
3. Pray that God would open doors for new ministries in Providence of Alberta Canada.
4. That God would help us solidate the ministries in Puerto Rico, Panama and Uruguay.
5. Pray for trainer Larry Jones. His horse got second place in the Kentucky Derbie and horse broke front legs after crossing the finish line horse was put down. People are blaming him for the loss of the horse.
RTCA DIRECTOR OF EVANGELISM AND MISSIONS - EDWARD SMITH
1. That the Lord of the Harvest will continue to prepare the evangelism fields to come for outreaches in Delta Downs, Evangeline Downs, Belmont and Arlington Park and that many will come to the Lord. And that our chaplains will be used to bring thousands of people to the Lord
2. That the thousands of new believers in the Lord will continue to grow as disciples at bible studies and ALPHA programs all over the race tracks of the USA.
3. That the Lord continue to bring us the resources needed to carry out evangelism festivals and discipleship programs all over the US and to prepare for Global revival and discipleship with the RTCA world horse ministry partners
RTCA PRESIDENT - WAVERLY PARSONS
1. Please be in prayer for my son-in-law Bobby who is in Iraq, my nephew Dustin in Iraq, my grandson on his way to Afghanistan along with my son Robert. Please pray for their safety and that this experience will bring them closer to God----- Walter P. Parsons

"CHAPLAINS REP." - KEN BOEHM
1. For all chaplains -- that the Lord would strengthen us by His Holy Spirit to carry the Word boldly at the racetracks we serve. That we would be given the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of Job, the preaching of Paul, the whole armor of God, and the hide of an elephant.
2. Chaplain Jack Cordell, Chaplain Lee Alphen, Chaplain Dennis Luft, Chaplain Tom Farley, Chaplain Mike Powers, and all other chaplains who have experienced illness or surgery in the past few months.
3. For chaplains experiencing family problems or difficulties with spouse or children.
4. For chaplains experiencing financial hardship -- that the Lord would provide for all their needs in abundance.
5. That efforts to procure affordable health care be provided for every chaplain.
6. For local and global efforts of RTCA -- that one day EVERY knee would bow and EVERY tongue cofess Jesus as Lord at racetracks around the world.
7. A prayer of thanks that we have been blessed to be called Chaplain and that we never lose the awesome joy of that privilege.
8. We would ask prayers be said for all the connections of Eight Belles, Justin Vitek and Tanner Van Berg (leukemia), Hank Berry (by-pass surgery), Jim Calavera (auto accident), Kim Carroll (pancreatic duct blockage), Marvin Calderone (thrown from horse hitting head -- limited use of legs), David Vance (recovery from auto accident), Louise Boehm (nursing home), George Wagner (nursing home), Toni Gabriel (horse flipped on her -- at hospital (unknown injury at this time).
AUSTRALIAN RACING CHRISTIAN CHAPLAINCY
1. Praise God for raising up the Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy and of the National Jockeys Trust more recently. Together they seek to meet the post-accident, family and spiritual needs of employees in the industry.
2. We pray for all governments who administer racing, that they may govern with justice, charity and especially care for those who lead and those in physical, emotional and addictive need in the horseracing industry.
3.

Protect from harm and accident all who work in and enjoy the sport of racing, grant that they mirror Christian integrity and charity in all their dealings.
4. We pray that our industry will not suffer any further setbacks,like the Equine Flu epidemic,but return to full strength, especially after the visit by Pope Benedict in July this year, which will affect racing at Randwick racecourse. We pray for the many thousands who have suffered emotionally and financially from the disastrous Equine 'flu and pray for a positive future for thorougbred, harness, equestrian, polo, and pony clubs as well as the many studs around our country. We pray that their businesses would be restored and that they would look to God for comfort and help.
5. We pray for the ministry of the Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy that we will find and fund a person this year to be the first fully employed Christian chaplain to both major Sydney race clubs (the Australian Jockey Club and Sydney Turf Club) and to all of the Sydney racing industry.
6. We pray for the fundraising efforts of ARCC, that God would open the hearts and wallets of potential donors and that we would raise the money we need to employ a chaplain.
7. We thank God the Australian Jockey Club has agreed to the request of our Anglican archbishop to appoint Rev Colin Watts as honorary Anglican chaplain. Pray for his predecessor Rev Jeremy Tonks and his family as they move into another parish.
8. Pray for Barbara Ramsay and Paul Bayliss as they prepare a submission on behalf of ARCC for the state government's INDEPENDENT REVIEW OF WAGERING IN NSW entitled: A FRAMEWORK FOR FUTURE GROWTH AND SUSTAINABILITY OF THE NSW RACING INDUSTRY.
9. Above all we pray for the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ amongst people in the industry, that lives would be changed and people would come to know you.
10. Prayer in Times Of Anxiety amongst Racing people.

O God,You know how often in this racing businesswe are tempted to worry- Will my horse win? What will the track be like after all that rain?Will I be able to ride again after my fall?And a hundred other similar questions.

Help me to be sensible, and to see that worrying about them does not make them any better. Help me to trustful, and to do all I can, and then leave the rest to you. Help me to be sure that nothing can happen to me through which you cannot bring me in safety; and that nothing can separate me from your love. Help me to lose my anxiety in the certainty that the everlasting arms are underneath me and around me. That you are the eternal God in whom I have taken refuge. And give me that peace which the world cannot give me and which it cannot ever take away.

"CHAPLAIN" JIM SMITH
1. My prayer needs are for Harry Gagnon, a backsider who has brain cancer and liver cancer. He has been given 2 months to live, although he is a Christian, Harry is very stressed about a project for the RTCA he has started, and is afraid he will never see it come to pass.
2. Also pray for his daughter Lynn.Also the folks at Mountaineer.
PASTOR CAROLYN STEWARD
1. Prayer request for the intercessors to pray for the ministry of restoration.
2. God has given us a little country church to restore and begin services. I shared with Chaplain Waverly that I would like it to be a Cowboy Church.

Pray for the attorney as we get the legal work done.

4. We have begun the carpenter work, and praying for the materials or money to come in.
5. I have a praise report, that not only the land and building is being given to us, but the pews as I speak are on their way here from Decatur, Illinois. We had some office furniture donated to us. So GOD IS SUPPLYING ALL OUR NEEDS.
6. I am praying for RTCA and the Chaplains & their families as they are out in the mission fields bring in the harvest of souls to the kingdom of God.

1. Physical strength to my mother in law (86 years old) and complete healing to my daughter and her son of an stomach infection.

1. There are many needs here at The Meadows that we are praying for ... but I just ask you to add two young men who are having a tough battle with cancer to your list. Their names are James Prince and Bruce Hardiman.
(Also, a woman who has been ill for sometime - Pat Twaddle)
"CHAPLAIN " - YURIAN SANTIESTEBAN
1. For Track workers, that God may work in their lives and make them faithful to His word.
2. Ever Marroquin's Family- Ever commited suicide at the track, pray for family affected.
3. Tranquilina donis- Is detained by immigration pray for strnght to what ever the out come might be.
4. Baby Alejandro Orantes- Was born before full term and is having respiratory problems and is in the hospital. Pray for healing, strength and also, pray for the parents.
"CHAPLAIN " - JOSE DANIEL CORTE JR.
1. Trainer Jim Baush- Has Pneumonia/Deabetes and has been in the hospital for several 6-7 weeks, his conditon is really bad. Has been taken off the respirator and it's all in God's hands. Doctors don't give him to long to live. Pray for healing and strength for the family.
2. Anne Sabourin- Leg was amputated and needs to recover from surgery.

Pray for chaplains and their families, new council leaders and for RTCA's vision combined with the purpose driven church growth model being implemented.
4. Avry James Baush (boy) Was born before full term and is in the hospital. Pray for healing, strength and also, pray for the parents.

1. Pray that Jesus Christ would continue to raise up workers for His harvest at Penn National.
2. Pray that we would see more people trust Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Pray for George Albright, Scott Collins, and Tom Adams who are all battling cancer.
4. Pray for a successful Chaplaincy Golf Tournament on Monday, June 2, 2008. Praise the Lord for a very good response so far.
