2006 White Horse Award

Nominations now being accepted.

The Award is given for heroic acts in behalf of human or horse and the heroic act could have been performed in a year other than 2006. It carries a $5,000 first prize courtesy of youbet.com and the final four earn all-expense paid trips to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Churchill Downs on November 4, courtesy of the Daily Racing Form. “Chicken Soup for the Horse Lovers Soul” also pays $1,000 to each of the three runners-up. The finalists receive other gifts and prizes and the winner is given a special limited edition white bronze White Horse Award statue designed by famous sculptress Lisa Perry.   

Nominations can be made several ways.

  1. Contact a local RTCA chaplain, tell the story and leave your contact information. Someone from the home office will contact you to learn the details and verify the heroic act.

  2. Contact a local HBPA office and do the same. HBPA officials will contact the home office and you will be contacted.
